Online Business Marketing – How Can Your Business Survive the Depression?

By admin On January 3, 2009 No Comments

In a time like this, it is paramount that all home business owners redouble their marketing efforts to ensure the survival of their business during these economic times. The bad news is that many people are losing their jobs and beginning to see a significant drop in their income. Though some will see the value of a home business in a time like this, some people will have the tendency to be more practical. Hard times do not necessarily warrant trying new ways to make money. People would want to gravitate toward something that is sure to make them money. That is why your marketing efforts should highlight the benefits of having a home business.

Now, experienced online marketers have heard and used article marketing, video marketing and blogging effectively to increase traffic to their site. But I would like to introduce 3 ways that can be very handy in developing traffic for your site as well as solidifying yourself as an expert in your niche.

1. If you are involved in a business right now, your company may introduce new products, new information on effective marketing tactics etc. This is an opportunity for you to broadcast such information called publicizing event. Every time your company produces something new and exciting, make sure you broadcast this. Some sites you can do this include PR release sites like prweb.com and social networking sites like Facebook, youtube, and Myspace just to name a few.

2. If your company does not offer many new products, one thing you can do is host something like a hotel meeting but for free and online. To elaborate further, you do not have to be in a hotel to host a meeting, just something like it. You can have one on the internet. Organize a presentation that highlights either the products you have or host an online webinar that provides network marketers, MLM-ers, affiliate marketers useful information. I.e. tips and tricks on how to make money during a depression. Use sites such as Twitter, Facebook and Youie to diffuse information about your webinar. This can go a long way into establishing yourself as an expert.

3. This one also involves social networking sites as well. I believe they are a gold mine in developing one’s business; these sites virtually place you within 3 feet of everyone across the planet-or those who have a computer rather. I digress, create your own group on places like Facebook, MSN groups, yahoo groups etc. that focuses on developing skills of those who want to start their own business as well as attract people to your business model as well.

I believe the slump in the economy provides a unique opportunity for online marketers to develop their business. However, just because many people will be out of the job, doesn’t guarantee a definite surge in your profit margins. I think us internet marketers will have to work just as hard if not harder to attract and inform others about the opportunities that exist right in their own home.
